Baltimore Community Foundation Launch Site

summary

The Baltimore Community Foundation wanted a homepage engagement piece that illustrated its action agenda: Focus the power of grants, initiatives and advocacy on two areas, education and neighborhoods. The Foundation asked for Embolden’s input on graphically expressing how its action agenda’s various components would work together to create an environment in which everyone had the ability to thrive.

solutions

Embolden worked with the Foundation on a design that cast the various components -- grants, initiatives and advocacy, education, neighborhoods and the Foundation’s vision -- as cogs in a machine. The cog implies movement, interconnectedness and interdependence – the very nature of a healthy, vital and mutually beneficial community. The site’s main navigation features elegant and direct calls to action – Give, Receive, Plan, Earn – that also clearly define the intended audience for a given section.
