Welcome to Embolden's new website!
I suppose it's a sign of getting older, but upon reaching certain milestones in our lives, some of us are inclined to reflection, to looking back, so as to get a better grasp on where we once stood and how far we've come.
In this spirit, (and not an hour after the "soft" launch of this site), I found myself poking around on the Way Back Machine - a website that lets you see other websites in earlier permutations. There I came upon Embolden's first website, a snapshot from April of 2000 to be exact, and I was immediately transported back to those early days of the company, when it was basically Ann-Marie and me sitting in our respective "home offices", communicating via our little bleeping Nextel phones and cranking out "web pages" like there was no tomorrow. Those were the days when "hyperlinks" were a revelation, and the "blink" tag was all the rage.
How far we've come! An incredible staff of 18 ridiculously talented individuals serving scores of happy, incredible clients; robust web technologies that do our bidding well beyond making the latest homepage news announcement "blink" and so give one a seizure. As for myself, I have had the privilege of nearly a decade of serving folks who are doing incredible things in our community, and in many other communities around the country - I look forward to another decade at least.
I hope you will agree that this website is a reflection of how far we've come and how far we intend to go. A few of us will be blogging and we will make every attempt to be interesting, informative and entertaining whenever possible. It is not hard to write about what you love, after all, and I think my colleagues will agree that the web is like a love affair that only gets more intense with time; like a love affair, it takes work and commitment to sustain, to keep up with, to progress.
This work is what we live for, and we hope you'll stick with us for the ride!
