Sheryl Carter joined Embolden as a content and usability strategist in 2008. Before coming to Embolden, Sheryl worked for several years doing web design, strategic planning, and tech consulting in New York City and elsewhere, including for the bestselling author-neurologist Oliver Sacks (whose book Awakenings was adapted into an Oscar-nominated movie).
As a consultant, she has specialized in content/editorial and messaging strategies for artists and small business clients in the arts. She is experienced in graphic design, HTML and CSS and is a seasoned researcher and dramaturg, with interests in user experience, usability, intellectual property and privacy issues.
Sheryl has a master's degree in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University and received her undergraduate degree in theater and film from Columbia College in Chicago.
