Mary Harrington oversees Embolden's operations, marketing and administration. Mary brings to the job 20 years of experience as a supervisor, manager, newspaper writer and editor, most recently at The Providence (RI) Journal.

Prior to that, she was the city editor at The Newport (RI) Daily News and president of the Rhode Island Press Association.

Comments: Theo was a much-loved retired racing greyhound. He passed away on March 2, 2010. Theo was Embolden's first dog and best friend.

Favorite Activity: Resenting his parents for putting him on a diet. Close second: herding humans toward his food bowl, especially while they are walking down the stairs.

Cutest Attribute: His completely unfazed attitude as Ruthie chases him for eating her food.

Species: Canine, with some feline and human attributes. Possibly some skunk.

Favorite Activity: Eating - a perennial obsession.
Favorite Food: Any and all (non-vegetable-matter) leftovers.
Cutest Attribute: Those sad, doe-y eyes.
Habits Hopefully to be Unlearned: Eating too fast. Barking for no apparent reason.
Other Comments: Except for the above bad habits, Twiggy is a nearly perfect dog. She was once a stray on the streets of Taiwan (it's a long story) but somehow wound up in America and has made a pretty nice life for herself - a perfect example of how immigration reform can work.

Comments: Max speaks with a Spanish accent and is known around the house as a suave, lover-cat. He will slink up to you and have you under his spell faster than you can say “Casanova.”

Favorite Activity: We are just getting to know Duke but his favorite thing appears to be sticking very close to his new mommies.
Favorite Food: Timothy's cat food. Not allowed.
Cutest Attribute: Resting in the oddest, non-doggy places, like the car trunk and the cat's perch on the hope chest.
Habit Hopefully to be Unlearned: Being terribly afraid of strangers.
Comments: Duke was adopted from Texas in June '10. He is a beautiful, sweet and goofy dog.
